HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY!

HAPPY CHILDREN’S DAY!

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord.

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,

So are the children of one’s youth.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;

They shall not be ashamed,

But shall speak with their enemies in the gate. (Psm 127:3-5)

I am grateful to God for these priceless gifts he considered my husband and I worthy to have. We are indeed blessed!

Beyond these beautiful faces, our desire is to raise godly seeds….a generation totally sold out to God.

We are willing to pay every price to see these ones turn out right, knowing that at this tender age, they’re learning moral and spiritual values from us.

The choices we make….the words we speak, the attitudes we display, our characters, every single step we take is consciously or unconsciously molding these innocent minds into our likeness.

As parents, we can only reap the harvest of our own sowing. Any hope for tomorrow, actually depends on what happens in our homes now.

It is not a struggle however when you are deeply rooted in God. The first step in parenting is to find God, a great source of strength.

He gives grace, He gives counsel, He gives direction, He gives guidance. He teaches, and comforts, He gives wisdom on how to do it.

God has given us the great responsibility of raising these children right.

As we celebrate our children today, I pray God’s grace upon every mother out there.

Our children shall not bring us shame, they will definitely make us proud!

Amen!!!

I don’t know who to credit this article with, but I completely agree with the writer.

If a child lives with criticism,

     He learns to condemn.

If a child lives with hostility,

     He learns to fight.

If a child lives with ridicule,

     He learns to be shy.

If a child lives with shame,

     He learns to feel guilty.

If a child lives with tolerance,

     He learns to be patient.

If a child lives with encouragement,

     He learns confidence.

If a child lives with praise,

     He learns to appreciate.

If a child lives with fairness,

     He learns justice.

If a child lives with security,

     He learns to have faith.

If a child lives with approval,

     He learns to like himself.

If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,

He learns to find love in the world.

TEACH THEM TO PRAY!

TEACH THEM TO PRAY!

I remember as a young girl, even as one that wasn’t yet in Christ, my mum made us (my sisters and I) learn and recite these words below after every devotion. It was somewhat tiresome, but it has not left me.

Quite recently, I thought to teach my kids too. I was able to make it more than half way through but couldn’t remember the rest. I called my mum and she recited it all for me. Wow! After more than 20 years.

Mothers, what are we teaching and leaving our kids with each day?

How much of God do we share with them? How much of God do we model for them?

They’re never too young to learn the word of God or His ways.

Let’s remember to train up our kids in the way they should go and even when they’re old, they will not depart from it.

God help us through this motherhood journey in these times. We can only do it by His wisdom and Grace.

I am a child of God

Born by the spirit of God

I have God‘s divine nature

I am who God says I am

I am righteous, sanctified and redeemed

I can do all things through Christ my Lord

I have victory over every principality and power

I fear no evil for God is with me

I am blessed, chosen and accepted

I live by the word of God, and grow in grace and in the Holy Spirit

I have wisdom, power and ability

I am a new creature designed for victory

Amen!!!!

CAN I BE GIVEN A CHANCE?

CAN I BE GIVEN A CHANCE?

I don’t get it, why won’t my husband allow me give him a haircut? What could he be so afraid of, or uncomfortable with? Does he not trust I will do a good job?

I have  always believed I’m the only one his looks are important to, or so I thought.

Why won’t he allow me prove myself like all the other women I have seen do it? It’s not a competition, I know, but this is just the only time I have to try this out.

I can’t bear seeing him everyday looking like a cave man, I just have to clean him up. Is this not reason enough?

Do I do it in his sleep? Oh… how will I maneuver his head, without waking him up?

Do I give him a sleeping pill? Am I ready to face the full consequences?

How, how do I just get this done so I can also proudly put up the pics?

What could be the worse? That he gets a Skin – cut? Is there any worse than that?Well, that might be an opportunity to wear a new look. How bad can that be?

I will not be deterred, I will keep scheming, and manipulating. May be….just may be, his defence will crumble.

In the mean time, let me continue to sip on my pina colada( Non alchoholic) as I think harder.

I‘m a born barber, and I will prove it!!!

Cheers!!!!
